Indian Matchmaking. You either love or hate the Netflix reality series. The first season came out in 2020 to mixed reviews, some criticizing how the show portrayed classism and gender stereotypes.
The series is produced by Smriti Mundhra. The leader of the series is Sima Taparia, a marriage consultant from Mumbai who uses preferences from the people, their parents, and her years of matchmaking to set people up with the goal of a successful arranged marriage.
Will there be an Indian Matchmaking season 3 on Netflix?
If you were hoping for more matchmaking tales, then you’ll be happy to know that Indian Matchmaking has already been renewed for a third season. Mundhra will be taking her skills to the U.K. to help people find their perfect match.
In season 1, there wasn’t one successful paring that was made. We don’t want to give away spoilers for the recently released season 2. But here’s what you can expect.
The sophomore season consists of eight, hour-long episodes of single millennials around the globe looking for their perfect match. This season sees Mundhra managing more expectations than ever from her clients, old and new. That’s right, there might be some familiar faces who pop up!
The wishlists range from man-buns, to an “ovo-lacto-semi-vegetarian” diet, to a shared love of Taco Bell. According to Netflix, the marriage consultant draws from her years of experience, insightful intuition, and traditional methods in the hopes of finding success.
