Will there be a sequel to the Netflix movie?

Look Both Ways is finally streaming on Netflix and chances are you’ve already watched the romance film. Now you’re left wondering if there will be a continuation of the story in a Look Both Ways 2. Fortunately, you’ve come to the right place because we shared all that we know about a potential sequel.

Look Both Ways stars Riverdale‘s Lili Reinhart as a young woman named Natalie whose life diverges into two parallel realities after taking a pregnancy test. Natalie’s path changes depending on the test results. In one parallel world, Natalie is pregnant and navigating motherhood in her hometown. In the other timeline, Natalie isn’t pregnant and she takes off to Los Angeles to pursue a career in animation.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a romance movie without love interests. Natalie’s love interest is her friend from college (Danny Ramirez) in the timeline where she’s pregnant. In the other timeline, Natalie’s love interest is her co-worker (David Corenswet) at Tall Story Animation.

Natalie juggles various situations in both timelines, but everything works itself out by the end of the film. So what does this mean for a Look Both Ways 2? Could there be a sequel? Here’s what we know.

Is Look Both Ways 2 happening?

As of Aug. 17, Netflix has not announced if there will be a Look Both Ways 2. However, I think it’s safe to say this is a one-and-done type of film. Look Both Ways ends with no loose ends. In fact, it ends in a way that seems final.

In the timeline where Natalie ends up pregnant, she’s asked to be on a panel with successful animators at the South by Southwest Film Festival. She also ends up with Gabe. In the other timeline, Natalie’s animated short film gets selected for a competition at the South by Southwest Film Festival, and she ends up with Jake. Basically, things turn out to be good for Natalie in both timelines. She gets the guy and her animation career seems to be moving in the right direction.

However, there is a chance Netflix could green light the film for a sequel. If Look Both Ways generates a lot of buzz and is watched by a good amount of people, Netflix might give the go-ahead. Still, it’s not likely. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Stay tuned to Netflix Life for any new updates on Look Both Ways 2.
