Will there be a sequel to the Netflix movie?

The second Netflix original Christmas romantic comedy of 2022 arrived on Nov. 17 in the form of Christmas with You. Lucifer star Aimee Garcia and ’90s heartthrob Freddie Prinze Jr. team up in the music-oriented holiday rom-com, and it’s sure to be a hit this season.

When pop superstar Angelina (Garcia) faces a difficult period in her career, she decides to fulfill a wish from one of her biggest fans. She finds herself in a small town in New York, the hometown of the fan and her father (Prinze), and there she discovers inspiration for her music and maybe even a chance at love.

Even though we can always predict how these stories will end, there’s something so comforting about watching them unfold. And that has a lot to do with the cast members. Netflix sure spoiled us with Aimee Garcia and Freddie Prinze Jr.

But will the pair reprise their roles as Angelina and Miguel in a sequel to Christmas with You? Here’s what we know so far about the possibility of another movie.

Will there be a Christmas with You 2 on Netflix?

As of the film’s release in November 2022, Netflix hasn’t indicated a sequel to Christmas with You could be on the way. While many of Netflix’s holiday romantic comedies could be standalone movies, they could also be opened up for another installment.

Christmas with You certainly has a satisfying story that wraps up in the end, but if the movie proves to be a hit with viewers, there’s always the chance that Netflix could bring Aimee Garcia and Freddie Prinze Jr. back for a sequel to continue telling Angelina and Miguel’s story.

Netflix isn’t a stranger to creating Christmas movie franchises. The streamer’s own A Christmas Prince and The Princess Switch each spawned trilogies, and the Kurt Russell-starring The Christmas Chronicles received a follow-up sequel with Goldie Hawn.

Currently, there are no concrete plans for Christmas with You 2, but never say never. Would you like to see a sequel to the rom-com? Share your thoughts in the comments, and make sure to watch the movie only on Netflix!
