When could season 4 arrive on Netflix?

It’s been so long since we’ve seen a new season of Sex Education on Netflix. The third season premiered on Sept. 17, 2021, and only a week later, a fourth season was announced. However, it had been pretty much radio silence after Sex Education season 4 was revealed to be happening until April 2022.

On April 14, it was reported that Simone Ashley (Olivia) would not be reprising her role in the fourth season. Then, throughout the summer, other cast members were reported to be exiting the series, like Patricia Allison (Ola), Tanya Reynolds (Lily), and Rakhee Thakrar (Emily). But we still hadn’t heard any details about the production schedule.

On Aug. 19, we finally received news that Sex Education season 4 was in production through the official Netflix Twitter account. Along with the filming announcement, we learned who would be returning in the fourth season and who would be joining the cast.

Unfortunately, an official production wrap date is unknown at the moment. However, filming is rumored to wrap sometime in March 2023. This means a 2022 release can be thrown out. So, when could we possibly expect Sex Education season 4 to land on Netflix? Below, we shared our release date predictions.

When could Sex Education season 4 arrive on Netflix?

After production wraps, we’re probably looking at about four to eight months of post-production before the fourth season is ready for viewing. If filming does wrap in March 2023, we could be looking at a release sometime between July and November 2023. Obviously, we would like to see Sex Education season 4 sooner rather than later, so a summer release is what we’re hoping for. However, it all depends on how long the filmmaking process takes. You can count on us at Netflix Life to share the official release date once it’s announced.
