It’s been over a year since Sweet Tooth‘s release on Netflix and fans are searching everywhere for news on the second season. More specifically, they want to know when Sweet Tooth season 2 will make its way to Netflix, and I don’t blame them! Sadly, Netflix has yet to announce an official release date. But the good news is that production has already wrapped, and the second season is currently being edited to perfection in post-production.
Sweet Tooth premiered on Netflix in June 2021 and quickly made an impact. In July 2021, Netflix reported that 60 million households had watched the fantasy series since its release in June. With this many people tuning in, Netflix renewed the show for a second season only a month after it premiered.
We learned that production on Sweet Tooth season 2 began in January 2022 through an Instagram post by actor Christian Convery. Filming was expected to run through to June 10, but production actually wrapped on June 6. During Netflix Geeked Week, a video of some of the cast and crew on set for the second season was released. The cast and crew revealed that production had officially wrapped in the video.
Now, the wait is on for Sweet Tooth season 2 to land on Netflix. Although we don’t have a release date yet, we can still make predictions on when the fantasy series could make its return.
When could Sweet Tooth season 2 arrive on Netflix?
Our guess is that we’re looking at about six to eight months of post-production before Sweet Tooth season 2 will come to Netflix. The first season spent about six months in post-production before landing on Netflix. If the second season spends six months in post-production, we could possibly see it sometime in December 2022. But if post-production takes seven or eight months, we’d be looking at a release sometime in January or February 2023.
As of right now, we’re leaning more towards an early 2023 release. Even though we would like to see Sweet Tooth season 2 sooner rather than later. The special effects used in the show might be the reason it takes seven to eight months for the episodes to be edited.
We’ll make sure to share the official release date once Netflix announces it, so stay tuned to Netflix Life!
