Spy thrillers are continuing to make themselves at home on Netflix. The streamer is investing in yet another series in this genre, so if you’re excited for Noah Centineo’s The Recruit, you should know that Treason, another show like it, is coming down the pipe soon.

The upcoming series Treason will star Daredevil‘s Charlie Cox and features a triangle that’ll leave you on the edge of your seat for more.

Consisting of five episodes, this spy thriller follows the tried and true premise of an agent’s past coming back to haunt them. But instead of a CIA agent dealing with a Russian spy, it’ll be a member of MI6.

Secrets can only stay hidden for so long and for the lead of this show, they also involve his wife and the life they made together which isn’t all it seems. Here’s what more we know about Treason!

Treason release date

On Nov. 21, Netflix announced the limited series will be released on Boxing Day. For those in the United States, that’s Monday, Dec. 26. Since most people will still have time off for the holidays on that date, it’s the perfect time to stay inside and watch all five episodes.

Treason cast

Charlie Cox will play Adam Lawrence, an MI6 agent whose past with a Russian spy upends his and his wife’s lives. Oona Chaplin and Olga Kurylenko will also star in the series likely as Maddy, Adam’s wife, and Kara, the spy he once knew.

Treason synopsis

The synopsis per Netflix:

Trained and groomed by MI6, Adam Lawrence’s career seems set. But when the past catches up with him in the form of Kara, a Russian spy with whom he shares a complicated past, he is forced to question everything and everyone in his life. A triangular relationship forms between Kara, Adam and his wife, Maddy; three people who are trying to expose each other’s secrets, navigate political and diplomatic relationships, whilst hanging onto their personal lives, and those they love most.
