Fate: The Winx Saga finally returns on Netflix with its second season on Sept. 16. It’s been over a year since the first season was released, so fans are more than ready to see Fate: The Winx Saga season 2. However, there are some people who are just now joining the fandom and have questions. They want to know if the fantasy series is based on a novel.
Fate: The Winx Saga was created by Brian Young for Netflix. He also acts as showrunner and executive producer. You might recognize Young from his work on the teen series Kyle XY andThe Vampire Diaries. In addition, the show was produced by Archery Pictures in association with Rainbow S.p.A.
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina‘s Abigail Cowen stars as Bloom Peters, a fire fairy who enrolls in a magical boarding school in the Otherworld, where she must learn to master her magical powers while also navigating romance, rivalries, and deadly monsters. While at the school, Bloom befriends other fairies who help her along the way.
More of the cast includes Hannah van der Westhuysen, Precious Mustapha, Eliot Salt, Elisha Applebaum, Danny Griffin, and Sadie Soverall. So is Fate: The Winx Saga an adaptation of a book?
Is Fate: The Winx Saga based on a book?
Nope. However, it is still an adaptation. It’s a live-action television adaptation of the Nickelodeon animated series Winx Club. Winx Club was created by Italian animator Iginio Straffi and had a series total of eight seasons. The first four seasons were created by Straffi and his production company, Rainbow S.p.A. Then, in 2011, Nickelodeon teamed up with Straffi to create a Winx Club revival series. The revival series included four special episodes and then seasons 5 through 8.
Winx Club is available to stream on Netflix, but only seasons 6 and 7. Amazon Prime Video has seasons 7 and 8. Sadly, there isn’t a streaming service that offers all seasons of the fantasy series. However, you can purchase or rent full seasons or individual episodes through Google Play.
