Netflix has a killer library of  reality tv shows, and soon it’ll be adding one more with the addition of The Mole, a revival of a classic reality competition which aired on ABC between 2001 and 2008.

Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming a release.

What is The Mole?

Netflix is reviving and reimaging a beloved ABC reality competition, The Mole — which ran for 5 seasons — which sees 12 contestants viaing for a giant pot of money by competing in a series of games and challenges while a secret sabatour is in their mids, trying to reduce the overall jackpot.

The official synopsis, via Netflix’s Media Center, reads:

“The Mole is a high-stakes competition series and in this reimagined version, twelve players work together in challenges to add money to a pot that only one of them will win at the end. Among the players is one person who has secretly been designated “the Mole” and tasked with sabotaging the group’s money-making efforts. In the end, one player will outlast their competition and expose the Mole to win the prize pot.”

We are super excited for the release and the opportunity to get to know the 12 new contestants! And luckily we don’t have to wait too long for the release of the new(ish) Netflix show! The series kicks off October 7, with new episodes airing weekly, according to Tudum.

Who is the host of The Mole?

Alex Wagner — best known for hosting Alex Wagner Tonight on MSNBC; co-hosting The Circus on Showtime, and for being the author of FutureFace: A Family Mystery, an Epic Quest, and the Secret to Belonging — was announced as the new host for the Netflix revival of the beloved reality competition.
