Is the Netflix show okay to watch with kids?

A new mystery-horror series titled The Midnight Club is coming to Netflix on Oct. 7, and you will not want to miss this upcoming release! But before you start your binge session, we wanted to make sure you’re aware of the parents guide and age rating. Is this show kid-friendly? Find out below.

The Midnight Club is a television series adapted from the young adult novel of the same name and other works by Christopher Pike. It was co-created by Mike Flanagan and Leah Fong and tells the story of a group of terminally ill patients who reside at a hospice. Every night, the group gathers at midnight to share scary stories with each other. One night, they make a pact that the first person to pass away from their disease will be responsible for giving the group a sign from beyond the grave of proof that there’s life after death. Then, one of them dies and bizarre events begin.

The cast is made up of Iman Benson, Adia, Igby Rigney, Ruth Codd, Aya Furukawa, Annarah Shephard, William Chris Sumpter, Sauriyan Sapkota, Heather Langenkamp, and others.

There are 10 episodes in the first season, so there’s plenty to watch and enjoy. Now, here’s the parents guide and age rating.

The Midnight Club parents guide and age rating

The mystery-horror series is rated TV-MA, which means it’s intended to be watched by mature audiences only. It was given this age rating for strong language, violence, self-harm, and suicide. There will also be substance use, blood, alcohol consumption, and many disturbing scenes that parents would deem unsuitable for younger kids to watch. Generally, this show may not be appropriate for ages 17 and under. We highly recommend watching this series when no kids are around.
