Emily the Criminal starring Aubrey Plaza hit theaters on Aug. 12, 2022, and now that some time has passed, people are wondering if the crime thriller has made its way to a streaming service yet. Is it on Netflix? We answered this question right below.

Emily the Criminal was written and directed by John Patton Ford. Ford made his feature directorial debut with this movie. He had previously directed a short film called Patrol.

Tyler Davidson, Plaza, and Drew Sykes signed on as producers, with Dexter Braff, Kevin Flanigan, Angus Wall, Kent Kubena, Lowell Shapiro, and Mike Dill serving as executive producers. The movie was financed by Low Spark Films in association with Fear Knot Productions. In addition, Plaza produced under her Evil Hag Productions company.

The crime thriller follows a woman named Emily, who’s down on her luck and deeply in debt until one day, a co-worker connects her with a shady gig as a “dummy shopper,” which actually turns out to be a credit card scam. Although she begins making quick cash, Emily soon finds out that there are deadly consequences to black-market capitalism. Besides Plaza, the cast is made up of Theo Rossi, Megalyn Echikunwoke, Gina Gershon, Jonathan Avigdori, Bernardo Badillo, John Billingsley, and Brandon Sklenar.

Is Emily the Criminal on Netflix?

Not yet! According to What’s on Netflix, Emily the Criminal will arrive on Netflix on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2022. However, the streamer has not officially confirmed this release date, so there’s a chance it may not land on Dec. 7. Once Netflix releases its complete list of new movies and shows coming in December 2022, we should know for sure whether or not the crime thriller will come out on Dec. 7.
