Squid Game is arguably the best Korean series streaming on Netflix. Actually, it’s Netflix’s most popular show. When it premiered in September 2021, it instantly became a global phenomenon. Due to its immense popularity, Squid Game was officially renewed for a second season and Netflix ordered a reality competition series based on the show. This is why it comes as no surprise that the survival drama series snagged multiple Emmy nominations this year. I mean, the show had already won numerous prestigious awards, including a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor – Series, Miniseries or Television Film, and several Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Squid Game managed to accumulate a whopping 14 Emmy nominations, including for Outstanding Drama Series, making it the first non-English language work to be nominated in this category. Then, at the 74th Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, the survival series received four Emmys. The awards included an Emmy for South Korean actress Lee You-mi for Outstanding Guest Actress In A Drama Series. But did Squid Game win any awards at the Primetime Emmy Awards?
