Blood Origin is not coming in November 2022

We’re much closer to seeing The Witcher‘s prequel series. The Witcher: Blood Origin isn’t coming this month, but we do have a release date.

Right now, all Witcher fans are focused on the latest major news. Henry Cavill is leaving the OG series after the third season. That’s not to say Geralt of Rivia is going anywhere. He’s just getting a change of face, with Liam Hemsworth taking on the role.

While we all deal with that change, we’re still looking forward to the arrival of The Witcher: Blood Origin. The bad news is that we won’t get to watch it this month, but the good news is we will get it before 2022 comes to an end.

When will The Witcher: Blood Origin head to Netflix?

The Witcher: Blood Origin will come to Netflix on Christmas Day. Yes, that’s right. We’re getting a Christmas Day 2022 release for the prequel series.

This would be concerning for most. After all, people spend the day with their families, and the last thing we’ll be thinking about is watching TV. However, we don’t need to worry about the renewal hopes for this Witcher prequel series. The show is billed as a miniseries.

We know very little about the series going into it. It’s set 1,200 years before the series we’ve already come to know, and follows seven outcasts in the Elven world. They unite when they realize there’s a huge power coming to take over the world. Can they work together to take down the evil? Will others join them in the fight?

While Geralt isn’t going to be in the series, we know the bard, Jaskier, is part of the story. This is also set to be the story of the very first Witcher being created.

The Witcher: Blood Origin will be on Netflix on Christmas Day.
