Absolution release date, trailer, cast, synopsis, and more

Today, Netflix unveiled tons of new information on the all-new animated series set in the Dragon Age universe. Dragon Age: Absolution will debut in early December, only on Netflix. The new series, which is a co-production between Netflix and Bioware, now has a new trailer, images, and a release date, plus Netflix has also shared the voice cast!

Additionally, Netflix revealed the world-premiere trailer and key art for the show, which we’ll showcase below. The new series will be set in Tevinter, which should be interesting since Tevinter has mostly been contained to the Dragon Age novels thus far; it’s only been mentioned in the mainline games.

But Bioware recently confirmed that the fourth game, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, would be set in Tevinter! So one has to wonder, will this animated series lead into Dreadwolf or at least have some connection to the new game?

After debuting in 2009, Dragon Age has become a top-rated award-winning video game franchise with beautiful locales, rich stories, and lovable characters. The next game, Dreadwolf, will be another single-player experience that continues to build on the adventure.

Absolution will be produced by the South Korean animation studio Red Dog Culture House, with Mairghread Scott (Avengers Assemble, Transformers Prime) serving as the showrunner.

Dragon Age: Absolution release date

In early November, Netflix announced that Dragon Age: Absolution would be released on December 9, 2022.

Dragon Age: Absolution synopsis

From Netflix, “Created in collaboration with BioWare (creators of the award-winner Dragon Age video game franchise), Dragon Age: Absolution is set in Tevinter and features an ensemble of new characters inspired by Dragon Age lore, including elves, mages, knights, Qunari, Red Templars, demons and other special surprises. Additional details to be announced.”

Welcome to Miriam’s story:
