A Knives Out Mystery release date set for December

The 2019 film Knives Out took the world by storm, racking up millions at the box office and launching Ana de Armas into the stratosphere. It also gave us the gift of Chris Evans’ cozy sweaters. Now Netflix has finally revealed when the sequel, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, is coming to the service.

Fans won’t have to wait too much longer to see the new movie as it will begin streaming this December, a few days before Christmas.

The first movie was a spectacle and lent itself to being watched in theaters with a group of people. I imagine Glass Onion will be similar, so luckily for us, Netflix is also releasing the sequel in theaters! The decision to release the film cinematically before its official Netflix debut isn’t surprising as there has been chatter about the possibility happening for a while now. We do not yet have a theatrical release date.

Writer and director Rian Johnson returns as the creator of Glass Onion, which will follow Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) on a new mystery to Greece that involves a colorful cast of suspects. The film stars an incredible cast of talent: Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline with Kate Hudson and Dave Bautista.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery arrives in time for Christmas

The Knives Out sequel will begin streaming on Netflix on December 23, 2022. That sounds like the perfect Christmas gift to me! As mentioned above, we do not know when the film will come out in theaters, but I imagine the theatrical release will be set for late October or November. Most likely, there will be a window of exclusivity to ensure the film gets to run for a few weeks before coming to Netflix.
